Premium Synthetic ATF : Red Line 30504 D4 Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart
Your car will not explode if you do not use the car manufacturers specific fluid.They want you to spend more moolah on the manufacturers ridiculously expensive ATF. Just make sure it "meets" the spec for the recommended fluid. In my case it met both the BMW spec and the Honda spec for transmission fluid so I did a drain and fill on both vehicles and I noticed improvement in smoother shifting. The Redline is 100% synthetic whereas the BMW AND original honda fluid were not (although the newer improved honda fluid now is 100% synthetic maybe due to the higher failure rate of their trannys). I will do 2 more drain and fills before winter to get 90% new fluid in. You can never get 100% unless a fluid exchange is done with a flush machine but this more risky.If done incorrectly it can mess up your transmission-$$$. Just about any decent mechanic will tell you 3 drain and refills is much more safer. Nevertheless the REDLINE D4 is a GREAT PRODUCT. All the enthusiast forums are equally as positive as me. Do some research and you will agree.
